Storybook Narrative Acrylic Painting with Katie Ward - Intensive Four-Session Studio Course

In this four-session studio experience, students will create a larger-scale narrative painting (16x20 or larger) incorporating layered environments, expressive animal subjects, pattern, and refined detail. From concept and composition through structured layering and finishing, this course emphasizes depth, light consistency, and cohesive storytelling. Students will leave with a deeply developed painting and a stronger framework for building layered narrative work. Personal reference images are encouraged, along with a smartphone or tablet for digital idea development.

Katie Ward
Katie Ward is originally from St. Louis, Missouri. She spent a large part of her childhood in Brussels, Belgium, before returning to the USA for high school. She earned a BA in English Literature, MA in Literacy Education, and an MA in Elementary Education. In addition to her love for teaching, Katie also has an artistic soul and has painted throughout her life. Katie now splits her time between Michigan and Nevada.
