Foundations of Narrative Animal Painting with Katie Ward
Class | Available
In this full-day workshop, students will explore the foundations of expressive, story-driven animal painting in acrylic. Working in small scale, we’ll focus on form, establishing light source, layering color, and bringing personality into a simple composition. Students will complete small studies and make strong progress on a final piece, gaining the confidence and tools to carry their painting to completion. Students are welcome to bring personal reference images. A smartphone or tablet is encouraged, as we will explore simple digital tools for idea development and composition planning. Works in progress may be brought to future workshops for continued refinement.
All materials provided.
Confident beginners and intermediate painters welcome.
