Andy Warhol Blotted Line Technique
Class | Available
This course examines the Andy Warhol “blotted line” technique as both a drawing and print-based process. Students learn to create expressive, broken-line imagery by transferring wet ink between sheets of paper, resulting in a distinctive hand-drawn yet reproducible aesthetic. Instruction includes historical context, material preparation, inking and transfer methods, and the integration of color through watercolor or other media. The course emphasizes experimentation, spontaneity, and process-based thinking while highlighting the technique’s influence on pop art, illustration, and contemporary visual culture.
All supplies included.
