Make Your Mark: Printmaking Camp with Linda Jackson
Camp | Available
Hands-on kids will tap into their inner artist in this high-energy exploration of the world of printmaking!
Designed for curious creators ages 8 and up, this camp takes students on a journey from simple impressions to professional techniques. Students will discover the magic of monoprinting using everyday household materials, transform found objects into unique custom stamps, and master the bold graphics of foam plate and cardboard printing. We will introduce the foundational skills of linocut printing, teaching students how to safely carve and ink their own reusable blocks.
Students will leave with a diverse portfolio of one-of-a-kind prints and the skills to keep printing long after camp ends!
Please note: because students will be using some carving tools, there are no exceptions to the minimum age.
Families eligible for SNAP may contact gallery@oliverart.org to inquire about scholarships.
Linda Jackson
Linda Jackson taught Fine Arts at Spring Arbor College in Spring Arbor, Michigan, and Tabor College in Hillsboro, Kansas, then found true joy teaching art at Wickliffe Progressive Elementary School in Upper Arlington, Ohio, where she taught for 25 years. Students K-5 engaged in exploring different drawing media, clay making, and printmaking. They focused on the elements of design (line, shape, form, space, color, value, texture) to creatively connect personal experiences to art making.
