Beginning Watercolor with Jenni Bateman

This one-day class is designed for beginners (or pick up where you last painted). We will learn the language of watercolor, including how to create your own color wheel, the difference between a wash and a glaze, understanding the six elements of design and how to use them in your paintings, specific tools like pigment, brushes, water, papers and how to find your way through the maze of art supplies. Jenni will guide a lively group discussion and professional critique with humor and gentle coaching. At the close of class, you will have documented all the basics of watercolor in a little packet and several paintings to get you started in this new and exciting medium.

Jennifer Bateman
Jenni Bateman is a practicing multi-disciplinary visual artist with an active teaching schedule specifically designed not only for the beginning watercolor student but coaching for both the emerging and established artist looking to grow their artistic skills. With a dose of humor and gentle critique, Bateman’s teaching style builds student’s confidence. Jenni has a career-history of guiding lively group discussion and expert critique combined with a nice dose of humor and gentle one-on-one coaching. Students develop experimental work with renewed confidence as they learn and communicate with the “LANGUAGE OF ART”.
Jenni tells her stories using watercolor, acrylics, oils, textiles, collage, and the ever-elusive process of painting on silks referred to as the SERTI method and has exhibited across the US and is represented at several galleries.
