Wheel Throwing l - 1A: Fundamentals with Amelia Bell

Class | Registration closed 1/26/2026

About the class:  Learn the Basics of making functional pots on the wheel!  In this fun and informative 6-week pottery course, students will learn to create basic forms such as bowls and cups on the wheel and explore decoration and glazing.  We'll discuss what makes a pot functional, as well as dos and don'ts of working with clays and glazes.  Students will take home several finished pieces and a range of skills to continue their pottery study.

About the OAC Ceramic Studio:  You'll enjoy our professional, comfortable ceramics studio with wheel classes with a low student-teacher ratio (limited to just 6 participants in order to maximize the attention each student gets from the instructor).  Our students enjoy hands-on experience shared with like-minded creatives in a friendly and relaxed environment.  Choose from a variety of classes led by our teaching artists and enjoy our stunning views of Lake Michigan while you work!  The Oliver Art Center Ceramics Studio is the place to learn and have fun year-round!
