In this busy holiday season, why not also take time for your creative self? Try your hand at western marbling! In this workshop, we will go through the steps of traditional western marbled patterns. After that, we'll experiment individually, ending up with 6 to 12 unique papers. These sheets can be used for future projects: bookbinding, notecards, place cards, boxes, wrapping paper, etc. As a bonus, each person will have the opportunity to marble a small 3-dimensional object (provided).

Creative play has always been important to me. Finishing up my art degree late in life opened up whole new worlds of fun, which led to several summer courses at OxBow, with paper making grabbing my attention the most. I was able to assemble a paper making studio at home, and learned bookbinding, marbling and other allied crafts along the way. Since it was all so enjoyable, I wanted to let others join in, and I began teaching classes as opportunities arose. Marbling workshops eventually became my favorite, because marbling is both playful and portable! My instruction combines what I learned from Andrea Peterson (Hook Pottery Paper) and Galen Berry (MarbleArtUSA), encouraging both independence and mastery as each student sees fit.
