Join Tamara Hoffbauer in the Digital Arts Studio at Oliver Art Center as we walk through an intro to product photography for artists using OAC equipment, or your own! This course is a prerequisite for OAC members who want to utilize the Digital Studio to create their own photos, vlogs, etc. Once the student has completed the intro course, they can book the studio for their own creative use in the future. Note: you must be a member to book the Digital Arts Studio.

What will be covered: 
An intro to the camera and lenses, lights, props, and backdrops available for your use in the OAC Digital Arts Studio. We will also review the use of the Mac Studio computer and access to Adobe Creative Suite. We will walk through a range of product photography setups: tabletop or pedestal, using a mannequin, using a light tent, using a backdrop, and photographing 2D work on the wall.

Skill Level:
Intermediate, student should be comfortable with a camera. Age 18+.

Tamara Hoffbauer

Tamara Hoffbauer has been working in the marketing, print, and digital design industry for over 20 years. She has trained in Adobe software since version 1, designing and editing art for print publications, retail products, and websites. Past work as a Creative Director included 14 years of photographing products for a retail print catalog and e-commerce webstore, designing photo shoots, and preparing digital files for publication. In her free time, she also enjoys expanding her repertoire by photographing landscapes, architecture, and wildlife. Tamara spearheaded the creation of the OAC Digital Arts Studio and enjoys helping artists find ways to better represent their work. Tamara received a BFA from DePaul University in Chicago and now resides in Frankfort, where she serves as the Executive Director of the Oliver Art Center.
