A sketchbook can be fabulous way to express yourself without worrying about a finished product, a way to experiment, and a way to work through visual problems before committing to a composition.  But many people find using them intimidating.  Others just don't know where to start. In this workshop we'll  begin by working through creative exercises designed to help artists loosen up, such as blind contour drawing, trying out a variety of media, and using ephemera and other items from daily life as sources for inspiration.   You'll learn tips and tricks to use your sketchbook to challenge yourself, explore ideas, test out techniques and media, play with color, and archive imagery for future use in projects.

Note: since this class spans the typical lunch time, it is recommended that you bring a lunch with you to class.
