Class Description and Supply List: Cut, Paste, Repeat - 2-Day Collage Workshop with Margo Burian
Class | Available
Let color and shape be your guide in this 2 day collage workshop.
Participants will expand their knowledge of color mixing, and build a “palette" of colored paper,
using acrylic paint. The colored papers will then be used to create collage paintings.
Students are also encouraged to bring their own photos, magazine pages, printed papers, drawings or sketches to serve as inspiration for the collage paintings.
This class is suitable for all levels.

(A note about paint - these colors are just a suggested starting point. The goal is to at least have a warm and a cool of each of the primary colors - plus a generous amount of black and white. If you don’t have these exact colors, but have warms and cools of each of the primaries, perfect. If you have additional colors, great, bring them along. Margo Burian
A lifelong artist, Margo Burian currently splits her time between Northern and Southern Michigan. After a 20 year career as a commercial illustrator, she decided in 2007 to focus solely on making the kind of work that she was most interested in, rather than being bound by the constraints of commercial work. Much of her misspent youth was spent in Northern Michigan, where she developed a love for the serenity and beauty of the woods and the "Big Lake". Time and time again, she finds she is still drawn to those places. While she is perhaps best known for her atmospheric oil landscapes celebrating her love of Northern Michigan, she enjoys working in Acrylic, Collage, and Mixed Media. A self-avowed life long learner, as a teacher she brings to her classes enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to meet her students where they’re at on their own artistic path. She has exhibited work in galleries in Traverse City, Harbor Springs, Frankfort, and Grand Rapids, MI.
