Class Description: Exploring Fused Glass - Workshop with Susan Smith

Students will learn the basics of creating with fused glass by learning to identify different types of glass, how to use tools to cut and shape it, and how to layer it to create artwork. They can choose to make either a suncatcher or a night light. Susan will take their creations home and fire them in her glass kiln. All work can be picked up the following week.
All supplies are included.
Youth ages 9-12 may take this class if a parent or guardian is also registered.
Susan Smith
Susan Smith became an art educator after a twenty-five year career in graphic design. She is a graduate of Interlochen Arts Academy, earned a BA in Art from Western Michigan University, and holds a K-12 Teaching Certificate in Art. She has worked in a variety of educational settings including public and private schools, community college, art centers and home school partnerships. She has experience in a variety of art media, but fused glass and mosaic are her favorites.
