Welding Basics

Learn the basics of using a MIG welder to make a small sculpture. Students will learn how to set up and operate a MIG welder, to include loading spool, how to set the voltage and wire speed, along with how to prepare and weld mild steel of varying thickness. This one-day class will give you the confidence to explore more with welding!

Megan (Berryville, AR) received her BFA in Studio Art from The University of Texas at Austin and MFA in Studio Art from Indiana University Bloomington. After a career in higher education, she now coordinates workshops at the Eureka Springs School of the Arts.
