Weekend Class: Enhanced Anticlastic Bracelets
Instructor: Cindy Moore, Cool Tool Chick Friday 5om t 9pm, Saturday 9am to 5pm
Anticlastic forming is a specialized metalworking technique that involves shaping metal into two opposing curves, creating a striking visual effect. This process requires careful manipulation of the metal to achieve the desired curvature. To create the Anticlastic effect, we will utilize a hydraulic press that applies controlled pressure to the metal. Accompanying this, I have designed a custom forming jig that helps guide the metal into the appropriate shape accurately. The combination of this jig and the hydraulic press allows for precision in achieving the intricate curves characteristic of Anticlastic bracelets.
If you wish to enhance the appearance of the metal first, you can emboss patterns on its surface.
This can be accomplished using a rolling mill, which presses the design into the metal, or through
the use of patterning hammers, which can imprint various textures and shapes. This added detailing
not only enhances the visual appeal of the metal but also allows for greater creative expression in
your work.Class Fee: $90
