Curnel, Brian
Brian Curnel

Biography Brian Curnel I began my photographic journey in the mid 1990s with a film camera (a Nikon Pronea) it was my first camera I owned, I was inspired by the works of others like Ansel Adam’s and Henry Broussard. I’d like to say that my images came out of camera with pleasing results but that would be the farthest from the truth. In retrospect I shot rolls of film that were developed and the images I thought would be my Adam’s were nothing more than a black swatch. Although frustrating it proved to be a valuable learning experience and with persistence and a lot of stubbornness, I began to build a relationship with the photography experience and over the past 30 years I have expanded those lessons into what is todays result. I’ve been teaching since 2006, I started with the North Alabama Photographers Guild of which I was a founding member moving onto Destin Beach Photography where I was a photo editor. Over the years I’ve taught in workshops, online and privately. My photography has been used in media and many of my works are held with private ownership.
