SILVER II: SOUTHWEST SILVER CONCEPTS
INSTRUCTOR: LAURA COX
This class will cover history, stones, and techniques commonly found in Southwest style jewelry. Techniques that may be explored will include but not limited to basic/advanced stamping, appliques, handcrafted bezels, and stone setting. Daily classes will begin with discussion and demonstrations followed by the students practicing and designing/executing their own pieces based on their newly learned skills and the students’ creativity and ability. Designs include but are not limited to earrings, rings, pendants, bracelets, necklaces, pins, barrettes, bolos, and/or buckles. If you have your own cabochons, tools, or stamps, feel free to bring them. The school supplies the basic tools. We suggest bringing an Optivisor if you have one. Lab fee includes expendable items such as flux, solder, sandpaper, saw blades, patinas, polishes, solder brick, and printed materials.
