GLASS FUSING II: PATTERN BARS

INSTRUCTOR: MARGO ANDERSON

Glass Fusing II: Pattern Bars is for students with prior glass fusing experience! We will focus on using various techniques and procedures to create artistic and functional fused glass pieces. Projects vary between classes, however each class offers great hands-on, using all forms of fusible glass; sheet, stringers, rods, frit, powder, confetti, opaque, transparent, Iridized and some creative bling of Dichroic glass! Students will also experience controlling and monitoring the kiln(s) they are using, as well as cold-working your projects for finishing. Some items made will be components for utilizing in class and any future projects for you.

Some techniques taught are:

Wall Vase Designs

Pattern Bars multiple uses

Constructing Display Stands

Luminaries

Mosaic Style Designs (powder wafers)

Creating with fiber paper

Drop-out Vessels

Should you have your own tools, you are welcome to bring them, however tools are provided for use in all projects. All projects made in this class will use Bullseye COE 90 glass. DO NOT bring any glass to class!
