WIRE WEAVING II - GEM SETTINGS

INSTRUCTOR:  KASKA FIROR

This workshop we will explore cold wire techniques for setting gemstones.  Students will learn how to set tiny 2mm stones to large, faceted gems while creating beautiful jewelry pieces.   Students will work together on one initial project to start us off.  After that everyone will work individually or in small groups on projects of their choosing based on their interest.  Kits with several designs will be available for purchase, or students can bring their own materials.  Depending on the individual progress you can expect to make 3-5 projects. Lab fee covers supplies for the initial project, practice wire and other consumables, such as liver of sulfur, steel wool, etc. The instructor will contact students a few weeks before class with a list of required tools. To see examples of the kind of work we will be doing, please visit my website
