SILVER II: SILVER MAGIC – TIPS, TRICKS, & TECHNIQUES

Spend a week with an experienced bench jeweler. Buying commercial items can be expensive, learn to recycle scrap silver/go green, make your own silver stock. Melt, pour, roll sheet, pull wire, and create alloys texture/patina. Ring sizing, chain solder and some prong setting. Learn to be more productive with your tools. This is not a production class, we will learn many new tips and techniques. Lab Kit covers material needed for projects, some consumable supplies, and the use of specialized tools. Finer materials will be available at an additional cost. Students may bring their own tools. Be sure to bring your scrap silver!

Edward Price
Ed is a master goldsmith and has a commercial art degree. He is a graduate of Bowman Tech in Jewelry Repair and has SFMS and AFMS Master Level Jewelry certifications. Ed is a past president of Jacksonville Gem and Mineral Society and has thirty years’ experience in jewelry repair. He has been a private instructor in goldsmithing, silversmithing, manufacturing, stone setting, repousse, faceting, mineral identification, and jewelry design.
