GLASS FUSING 1.5

INSTRUCTOR: CAROL ZODROW

This class will cover the basics of kiln firing glass.  We will learn safety procedures, how to cut glass and the physical properties of how glass reacts to different temperatures in the kiln. We will cover the basics of how to prepare a project for firing and will use a variety of elements (sheet glass, frit, confetti, stringers, millefiori, ribbons and dichroic glass) to create our projects.

You will learn a variety of techniques to create PART Sheets.  These are also called Designer sheets, think of them as background wallpaper for a more complicated project, or as components used to build unique jewelry pieces.  We will be making multiple 4x4 inch squares that can be cut and built then fired to make cabochons or pendants etc.   Squares can also be used as background designs or pieces for larger projects.  We will be using powders for some projects, you may bring your own face mask

Class Fee: $50 covers the use of molds, tools, handouts & supplies (kiln paper, adhesives, cleaners etc.

Materials Fee: $150 covers the cost of all glass supplies for class projects.  Additional glass items will be available for purchase.
