LAMPWORK III MURRINI
INSTRUCTOR: GEORGIA VAN ZYLES
The focus of this intermediate/ advanced class will be making murrini and using them in beads while improving your skills in heat control, bead shaping and encasing. We will start with a striped murrini and progress to more complex floral murrini.
A basic tool kit is provided, including didymium glasses but you should bring your own mandrels and favorite tools. An optivisor or clip-on magnification may be helpful, but not necessary. Wearing an apron is a good idea as making murrini requires working with large gathers of molten glass. Students must wear didymium glasses, closed-toe shoes, and 100% cotton clothing.
The lab fee includes all material needed for class projects except mandrels.
If you have any questions, please contact me at: gvanzyle@yahoo.com.

Prerequisites: You must have prior lampworking experience and be able to independently make a glass bead before taking this class.
