BEADING DESIGN & TECHNIQUES: BEYOND THE BASICS
INSTRUCTOR: BECKY PATELLIS
Classes consist of beading techniques with an emphasis on intricate designs and personal style as they apply to necklaces, earrings, bracelets, watches, etc. We will discuss pricing and marketing of finished projects. This class has good information for the beginner, as well as the more advanced. All students work at their own pace. Students will have the opportunity to learn knotting with silk thread or S-Lon; the correct beading wire for specific techniques; head pin use for earrings; several basic Kumihimo patterns. Also, I am working up a few new leather/bead projects. A large selection of semi-precious stone beads, glass, crystal, and metal beads, stringing materials, findings and tools will be available for purchase from the instructor at very reasonable prices. I encourage you to bring a piece or two of wire work, metal clay, or silver projects you might have that you wish to incorporate into your beaded work. To see examples of student’s work: beckypatellisjewelrydesigns on Facebook. Or on the William Holland Facebook pages.
Class Fee: $50 (student receives: Printed tutorials for projects covered in class, twisted needle, silk thread, and bead tips for first knotted project, pewter toggles, aluminum triangle sorting tray, head pins, a spool of beading wire, crimp tubes, bead stoppers, bead mat.)
Est Material Fee: $150 - $300 (which will depend on projects student chooses to make in class and supplies to take home for future use.)
