WIRE III: FACETED STONES, LET’S STEP IT UP!!!
INSTRUCTOR: DIANE MASON
Fear of faceted or small stone? Intrigued by beautiful, faceted stones but wish you knew what to do with them? Well , this class will solve your problems. The main purpose of this class is to make wire students aware of techniques used to wrap faceted stones and become as confident with them as cabochons. But, this is where fun, faceted stones and learning techniques are brought together to excite your creativity. We will start this task by successfully completing a total of at least 12-13 projects all using faceted stones. Shapes to be used are: teardrop, oval, emerald, marquis, trillion and briolette. Each will include a pendant and matching pair of earrings. There will also be an oval faceted bracelet to complete your count of 13 projects. Students may work in sterling silver or gold-filled wire. This class does not use craft, brass, or copper wire. This traditional wire class tends to move very fast. Students must actively wrap a minimum of 6-12 pieces per week and there will not be time to back up and refresh basic wire skills. The instructor will contact 4-6 weeks in advance of class start date. A welcome packet will be sent with a list of wire, supplies, and prices. However, students are asked to obtain their stones for use from the instructor. This allows students to be working on the same size & shape of stone at the same time. The class fee includes syllabus, wrap tape, 14-16 handouts, pen, paper, magic eraser, and sharpie marker. It is important that you read the prerequisites BEFORE registering. Please confirm with the instructor prior to registration if in doubt: 706-379-1718 or email: jimndee43@gmail.com
