CABOCHONS I.5

INSTRUCTOR: RICK MARSHALL

There will be no round, square, oval or rectangular cabochons produced in this class unless they have beautiful druzies of live edges! You will be asked to use your imagination and be creative. You will work with unique cabbing material such as live edges, druzies, coral, kyanite, crinoid stems, beads and geodes to produce unusual cabochons. I will have rough material available also so you can choose and cut. You will also work with stabilized material and learn the process of stabilization so you can work with materials you may have been afraid to work with in the past. You will learn techniques to clean druzies and live edges. I will have some machines in the class you may never have worked with, flat lap, drill press, intarsia machine and 10-inch saw, so you can become familiar with them and learn how to use them. This will be a fun and informative class. The class fee includes some slabs, straight edge, super glue, marker, pen, notepad and instruction manual. I will provide polishing materials and other useful items. If you have an optivisor you should bring it. You can bring your own slabs and rocks, plus I have slabs and rocks available for purchase.

Class Fee: $75.00

Estimated Materials: $0 to $75.00
