Cobia, Debra

As a jewelry artist, I use traditional metalsmithing techniques to create wearable art. My work is characterized by clean, uncluttered lines and enhanced by the use of texture and color.  Having lived on or near water for most of my life, I am strongly influenced by the colors and textures found in and around lakes, rivers, and mountains. I currently divide my time between Carrollton, Georgia and Cedar Bluff, Alabama. I am a founding member of the Blue Door Gallery, an artist cooperative in Carrollton.  I am a member of the Carrollton Artists Guild, the Metal Arts Guild of Georgia, and the Florida Society of Goldsmiths. I have been teaching at William Holland for approximately 15 years. Samples of my work may be seen at debracobia.com.
