OPEN STUDIO WEEK: CABOCHONS 1+

INSTRUCTOR: DAVID SHERROD

 

This class is designed for the student who is looking for class time to work on their own projects and stones. The classroom and equipment will be available during scheduled times, the instructor will be available to assist students with questions or problems and offer advice when needed, students must have experience in cabbing to take this class.

 

The instructor will be present to supervise the use of the classroom equipment. Students need to supply their own materials, but Instructor will have materials available for purchase if needed. Personal tools and consumables are the responsibility of the student. This is a service provided to students to work individually on their own personal projects using a William Holland Cabochon classroom.

 

Class Fee: $50

Prerequisite: Cabochon I or equivalent experience

David discovered the wonderful world of lapidary when he joined the Montgomery Gem and Mineral Society in 1998. Since that time, he has made numerous trips to William Holland for classes. He has been teaching cabochon to club members since 2013. He recently retired from Alabama Public Health after 39 years as a microbiologist. David enjoys producing high quality cabs from diverse materials but really enjoys utilizing fossil materials such as petrified wood, coral, and dinosaur bone.
