SILVER I: STACKING RINGS WEEKEND CLASS

INSTRUCTOR: MONICA LARA

In this class you will learn to make tube-set stacking rings. You will construct three bands: the first will have the setting set atop the band. Two more will have the band ends butt up to a silver tube setting. We will fit the tubing using burrs to shape the band ends. We will make the tube settings out of thick-walled tubing using burrs to cut the seat. You will learn how to get the ring to the proper size, how to make a tube-setting and how to hammer-set the faceted gemstones. You will be provided with silver band wire, silver tubing, saw blades, silver solder, 3 burrs and 3 faceted calibrated gemstones. You are welcome to bring your own tools but please count on using the silver and gems provided. OptiVISOR or magnifying reading glasses and an apron are recommended. Additional silver and gems will be available for sale.
