CABOCHONS I

INSTRUCTOR: DAVID SHERROD

Students taking this class will be taught the proper and safe use of cabbing machines and trim saws. Everyone will learn how to select, orient, and mark slabs for maximum effect. A handout will provide a detailed process. All students will first cut a calibrated oval from instructor provided material to determine their skill level and identify areas that may need attention. As confidence and competence increase, they can advance to more involved patterns and free forms with the instructor’s guidance. Individual attention will gladly be given as requested. Students may bring their own slabs or purchase them from the instructor’s inventory. Slabs only please.
