FELTING: VESSELS & FLOWERS
INSTRUCTOR: JACKIE MILLER
Felting with wool from sheep is the oldest form of textile art and can be traced back to ancient times, when wool was used for a variety of needs from clothing to household items. Three techniques for felting wool will be taught: wet felting - a wet, wild woolly fun experience, needle felting - creating a picture from a visual inspiration, and Nuno felting - overlaying wool onto an open woven fabric. You will create and embellish a felted vessel, an array of felted flowers and other wearable felted pieces. Students should bring several images of their favorite landscape paintings or favorite picture for inspiration. All supplies for this class will be provided. Additional wall kits provided for purchase.
