SITUAZIONE DI PARTENZA/STARTING POINT: This is a continuation of Italian Elementary 3 (A2). Students already have fundamental grammatical competencies and can use present and past tense, simple future, imperative, conditional, direct and indirect object pronouns, and congiuntivo presente. Students can already describe themselves and others, give commands and advice, talk about future plans, and express personal opinions or wishes.

OBIETTIVI/OBJECTIVES: Students will work on units 1-3 of the textbook, Nuovo Espresso 3. We will cover the following grammatical topics: trapassato prossimo, double object pronouns (pronomi combinati), past conditional, pronouns ci and ne, possessive pronouns, congiuntivo passato, conjunctions and congiuntivo, agreement of congiuntivo presente and passato, and adverbs in -mente. Students will also learn new vocabulary to make analogies, express doubt, or disagreement, ask for help, describe products, give explanations, make assumptions, talk about feelings and emotions.
