Beginning Watercolor
Workshop | Registration opens 12/2/2025 10:00 AM CST
In this beginner class, Richard will spend time on the essential tools of the trade: brushes, water, paints, and paper through guided exercises in color mixing, creating textures, the importance of “timing” in watercolor, and water to pigment ratio. Richard will share a few “tricks” to use in watercolor, suggestions on working from photos, the importance of developing basic drawing skills, and doing value sketches. In this class, exposure to the tools and physics of watercolor is the focus. There is a demonstration painting each day. Also you will receive plenty of one-on-one time with the instructor while working on your own painting. Please see the materials list for supplies to bring.
