Beginning Watercolor

In this beginner class, Richard will spend time on the essential tools of the trade: brushes, water, paints, and paper through guided exercises in color mixing, creating textures, the importance of “timing” in watercolor, water/pigment ratio. Richard will share a few “tricks” to use in watercolor, suggestions on working from photos, the importance of developing basic drawing skills, and doing value sketches. In this class, exposure to the tools and physics of watercolor is the focus. There is a demonstration painting each day; the students work on their paintings with lots of one-on-one time with the instructor.
