Figures in the Landscape: Expressive Watercolor

In this immersive workshop, you will be introduced to painting the figure in landscape using dramatic color and contrast. Learn to apply great design elements such as color, value, shape, texture and more while thinking about good composition and balance. You’ll review figure proportions and effective strategies to tell a story with dramatic color and emotion The workshop will include demonstrations, along with class and individual discussions. Students will have the option to work along with provided subject matter or choose a subject of their own with which to apply the techniques.
Alicia Farris
Alicia’s (Springfield, MO) artistic journey began when she was a child when she was inspired by color and beautiful shapes in everything she saw. She adores sharing her passion for painting in water media as she feels artists share a special sense for both seeing and feeling their subjects. Alicia’s work has been featured and recognized in numerous National and International exhibitions including TWSA, WHS, NWS, Watercolor West, Women in Watercolor and others, and published in Splash, Best of Watercolor, Watercolor Artist and Art of Watercolour, Missouri Life, and Signature Magazines.
