Virginia Woolf’s classic novel "Mrs. Dalloway" is reimagined by Michael Cunningham in his 1998 Pulitzer Prize winning novel "The Hours". In it, he creates new contemporary characters and settings and explores Woolf’s life and spirit. We’ll spend two class es reading Woolf and two on Cunningham, and try to do justice to both of them. A fifth class will view the movie of "The Hours" starring Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman.
