The course will include a brief history of democracy in America from its founding up to current day. The majority of the course will focus on current events that impact our democracy, including the latest Supreme Court decisions

Kim Harrison

Kim Harrison is a recognized leader in the government relations arena, spending the last 10 years as Vice President of Public Affairs for Hartford HealthCare. Previously, Ms. Harrison had her own lobbying firm advocating on behalf of a wide array of non-for-profit organizations on social justice issues such as gun control, reproductive rights, same sex marriage and abolishing the death penalty in Connecticut.
Semi-retired since June of 2023, Ms. Harrison is an adjunct professor in the Political Science Department at Central Connecticut State University. She holds both a BA an MPA in Political Science
