S25-45 Navigating Common Orthopedic Injuries: Healthy bones for a healthy life
Class | Registration opens 3/3/2025 9:00 AM
Orthopedic conditions, such as joint pain, stiffness, and mobility problems, are among the most common reasons people visit the doctor. However, since many of these symptoms progress slowly over time, it can be difficult to recognize when and where to seek help! This course is designed to teach students about the causes of common orthopedic conditions, screening
recommendations, and available treatment options. We will cover some basic biology and musculoskeletal anatomy, as well as more practical tips, like how to avoid falls in older age. Additional topics include osteoporosis and aging-related fractures, osteoarthritis and joint replacement, rotator cuff injuries, and back pain. This course is designed as an hour-long lecture, with time reserved for questions at the end.
