Negative attitudes toward older adults persist in the health care community across professional disciplines and care settings. There is a strong link between ageism, in the form of negative stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination, and risks to physical and mental health. This session will address the impact age bias and discrimination can have on client interactions, how beliefs pertaining to age and identity influence delivery of care and health outcomes, and strategies to dismantle ageism. This class will be recorded.
