What do you do when your family history, or genealogy, research runs into a proverbial “brick wall” or when your research leads have petered out? Would you like a fresh set of eyes to help advance your research?

This class will be a workshop aimed at answering some common questions and problems found when conducting family history research. We will look at and discuss some of the common brick walls and offer some potential workarounds. Students will be asked to provide specific research problems and challenges they have encountered for discussion in class.

One of the most common questions asked by new researchers is, “What do I do with the information once I have collected it?” We will devote a class session to this topic. Another commonly asked question is, “How do I do research in a foreign country?” This will be the focus of the second session. The other two sessions will concentrate on the specific challenges and questions students have experienced when conducting their research.
