Experience Lincoln’s private world in this award-winning, conversational, guided tour of the home where he changed the nation. For over a quarter of his Presidency, Abraham Lincoln lived on a hilltop in Northwest Washington, D.C., while making some of his most critical decisions. While in residence at the Cottage, Lincoln visited with wounded soldiers, spent time with self-emancipated men, women and children, and developed the Emancipation Proclamation.

Registration is required: A $16 pre-payment is required to reserve a space for this event. Encore Learning membership must be valid through the event date to register. This event is limited to 20 registrants. If the event fills up, there will be a waiting list. If you choose to be on the waiting list, you will be notified prior to the event if space opens up and you will be able to join for this event.

Directions/transportation: President Lincoln’s Cottage is on the grounds of the Armed Forces Retirement Home. The entrance is located at Eagle Gate, at the intersection of Rock Creek Church Road and Upshur Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20011. The Georgia Avenue Petworth Metro Station is 3/4ths of a mile from the Cottage. Parking is available.
