The DEA Museum is designed to engage and educate the public through exhibits, artifacts and personal histories about the impact of illicit drug use on Americans’ lives over 200 years. The museum tells the story of the Drug Enforcement Agency - its operations, global collaborations and the bravery of its special agents. This is a docent-led tour but will also allow time to explore exhibits on the science, manufacturing and distribution of various drugs, interwoven with personal accounts of the effects of drug use on families and the American society. Registration is required : There is no cost for this tour. However, registration must be completed by July 23 so that a list of attendees can be supplied to the DEA Museum in advance. Encore Learning membership must be valid through the event date to register. This event is limited to 20 registrants. If the event fills up, there will be a waiting list. If you choose to be on the waiting list, you will be notified prior to the event if space opens up and you will be able to join for this event. Directions/transportation: The DEA Museum is located at 700 Army Navy Drive in Arlington, Virginia, across the street from the Pentagon City Mall. It is easily accessible from the Pentagon City Metro Station on the Yellow and Blue lines and this is the recommended means of transportation. The Museum does not offer visitor parking. There is paid parking available at the Pentagon City Mall. Driving directions are available on the DEA Museum website. Additional Information: There is mandatory security check for all visitors upon arrival. This can be time-consuming, so it is recommended to arrive 15 minutes early. Attendees are required to present a REAL ID compliant state-issued identification, a US passport or other acceptable form of identification defined by the Department of Homeland Security.
