2028 - How to Live Healthier, Happier and Longer in Retirement

This course explores practical research-based strategies for optimal aging. Learn how to support brain health and prevent dementia and why seniors need to exercise regularly. We will discuss finding purpose in retirement as well as staying socially active, and how both are related to prevention of dementia. In addition, the course will cover the differences in men's and women's health and critical communication skills that strengthen relationships; essential foods that enable seniors to stave off cancer and cardiac disease; and the effect on overall health and longevity of what we put on our bodies for personal care. Students will also learn from TED Talks, discussion and lecture; and the role of humor as a learning tool and factor contributing to happiness.
