Class Description: Students will create an original, improvised story as an ensemble while also honing their actor’s tools (voice, body, and imagination)! In this class, students will engage in storytelling, improvisation, and creative drama exploration while also working together as an ensemble.
Program Type: This is a Creative Drama class, which means students will use their imaginations, explore their creativity through storytelling, and engage with the theme of the class through theater games appropriate for their age level. Creative Drama encourages collaboration, builds social skills, and promotes early literacy.
Class Location Information: The program will take place at MYArts, 1055 East Mifflin Street, Madison. There is free street parking and also $2/hr parking at MYArts. There is a community space where families can wait while their student is in class.
First Day Information: On the first day of the program, there will be a brief orientation for parents.
# of Students in Class: 10-12 students. There is 1 professional teaching artist.
Experience Expectations: Students should be comfortable participating in extracurricular activities without a parent/guardian present.
Final Sharing: May 18, 2024 at MYArts Center from 11:30am-12pm in Studio 2C. Family and friends are welcome to attend!
