Class Description: Go show ‘em who’s Legally Blonde! Join Elle Woods and the students at Harvard Law School to break stereotypes in this award-winning musical theater production! Students will strengthen their musical theater (acting, singing, dancing) skills while gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to put on a production.
Program Type: Our “Starlight Series” invites students to be part of a large ensemble of actors, take daily rotating musical theater workshops, and perform on our largest stage: the Starlight Theater!
Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Location Information: Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.
# of Students in Class: 38-40 students. Staffed by 3 professional Teaching Artists, 1 Teaching Assistant Intern, and one Stage Management Fellow.
Experience Expectations: Previous acting or production experience highly recommended.
