Class Description: We’re all in this together! Bring the world of Disney Channel’s East High to life in this musical theater production! Students will strengthen their musical theater (acting, singing, dancing) skills while gaining a deeper understanding of what it means to put on a production.
Program Type: Our “Starlight Series” invites students to be part of a large ensemble of actors, take daily rotating musical theater workshops, and perform on our largest stage: the Starlight Theater!
Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Location Information: The entire program will take place at Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.
# of Students in Class: 38-40 students. Staffed by 3 professional Teaching Artists, 1 Teaching Assistant Intern, and one Stage Management Fellow.
Experience Expectations: Previous acting or production experience highly recommended.
