Class Description: Adapted from the book by Roald Dahl, James and the Giant Peach is the story of a magical journey taken by James Henry Trotter and an unlikely group of insect friends. Join us to explore this incredible world!

Program Type: Our “Black Box Series” invites students to rehearse and perform a play/musical, take part in theater workshops, and create props and set pieces. The program culminates in a performance in the Sunrise Theater!

Students will: - Build acting, performance, & theater skills - Participate in a collaborative theater-making process - Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community - Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance - Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes

Location Information: Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.

# of Students in Class: 24-26 students. Staffed by 3 professional Teaching Artists, 1 Teaching Assistant Intern, and one Stage Management Fellow.

Experience Expectations: Beginners and students with acting experience welcome, though this program is tailored for students with some acting experience.
