Class Description: Join us for the Summer Cabaret Edition of our popular studio class! Students will use the basics of musical theater to learn songs, develop confidence, and work as an ensemble to create a Cabaret showcase. Every student will gain vocal skills, learn choreography, and expand their knowledge of musical theater!
Program Type: In our new “Cabaret Series,” students will learn the basics of musical theater (acting, singing, & dancing) through a musical revue structure. The program culminates in a final sharing in the Starlight Theater!
Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process based on the theme of the class
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Location Information: Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.
# of Students in Class: 25-30 students. Staffed by 2 professional Teaching Artists and 1 Teaching Assistant Intern.
Experience Expectations: We welcome students of all experience and ability levels to register, though this program is tailored for beginners.
