Class Description: Enter into the world of the Bard! Students will learn how to tackle heightened language, analyze plot and characters, and explore stylized movement through Shakespeare’s famous play. This program includes a trip to American Players Theatre in Spring Green to see The Merry Wives of Windsor on July 6 at 7:30 pm.
Program Type: This two week program invites students to learn and practice classical acting technique through the lens of Shakespeare. The program culminates in a sharing for families.
Students will:
Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Location Information: Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.
# of Students in Class: 20-24 students. Staffed by 2 professional Teaching Artists and 1 Teaching Assistant Intern.
Experience Expectations: We welcome students of all experience and ability levels to register, though this program is tailored for beginners.
