Class Description: In this introduction to theatrical design class, students will learn the basics of set design, prop construction, and other technical elements through project based learning as they build the world of a play!

Program Type: This one week program invites students to learn theatrical design and production skills. The program culminates in a sharing for families.

Students will: - Build design, production, & theater skills - Participate in a collaborative theater-making process based on the theme of the class - Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community - Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance - Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes

Location Information: Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.

# of Students in Class: 20-25 students. Staffed by 2 professional Teaching Artists and 1 Teaching Assistant Intern.

Experience Expectations: We welcome students of all experience and ability levels to register, though this program is tailored for beginners.
