Class Description: Come join us for a summer edition of our popular class! Students will learn to hone their actors tools of voice, body, and imagination while creating their own short plays in this interactive program!
Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process based on the theme of the class
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Location Information: The entire program will take place at Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.
# of Students in Class: 20-24 students. There are 2 professional teaching artists and 1-2 Teaching Assistant Interns.
Experience Expectations: We welcome students of all experience and ability levels to register though this program is tailored for beginners.
Typical Daily Schedule:
8:45–9:00 Check In
9:00–9:30 Warm ups and challenges
9:30–10:30 Workshop
10:30-10:45 Snack – We’re a nut free camp
10:45–11:45 Workshop
11:45–12:00 Ensemble Building
12:00–1:00 Lunch
1:00-2:45 Rehearsal
2:45-3:00 Clean Up/Acknowledgements
3:00 Dismissal
Final Class Sharing: Friday, August 5 @ 3pm at MYArts.
