This 3 week program invites students to perform a play and take part in workshops in music, dance and acting in addition to their rehearsals.
Students will: Build acting, performance, & theater skills; Participate in a collaborative theater-making process; Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community; Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance; Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Location: Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street
# of Students: 25-28. There are 3 professional teaching artists, 1 Teaching Assistant Intern, & 1 Stage Management Fellow.
Typical Daily Schedule:
9–9:30 Warm ups
9:30–10:30 Workshop
10:30-10:45 Snack (nut free)
10:45–11:45 Workshop
11:45–12 Ensemble Building
12–1 Lunch
1-3:15 Rehearsal
3:15-3:30 Clean Up/Acknowledgements
3:30 Dismissal (5pm dismissal weeks 2 & 3)
Experience: Previous acting experience strongly suggested
Performances: 7/7 & 7/8 @ 7pm
