Class Description: Join us for a week that is totally "Fetch". In this elevated musical theater workshop, learn music from the smash contemporary musical, "Mean Girls", and build skills including light choreography and acting through song. NOTE: Mature Content.
Students will:
- Build acting, performance, & theater skills
- Participate in a collaborative theater-making process based on the theme of the class
- Gain confidence, empathy, & a sense of community
- Practice communication, flexibility, focus, & perseverance
- Take risks in a supportive environment & learn from mistakes
Location Information: The entire program will take place at Madison Youth Arts, 1055 East Mifflin Street.
# of Students in Class: 18-20 students. There are 2 professional teaching artists and 1 Teaching Assistant Interns.
Experience Expectations: We welcome students of all experience and ability levels to register though this program is tailored for beginners.
Typical Daily Schedule:
9:45–10 Check In
10–10:15 Warm ups
10:15–10:45 Morning Workshop (Acting, Singing, Music, Dance)
10:45-11 Snack – We’re a nut free camp
11:00–12:00 Morning Workshop (Acting, Singing, Music, Dance)
12:00–12:30 Lunch
12:30–3:45 Refocus, Rehearsal
3:45-4:00 Clean up/Acknowledgements
4:00 Dismissal
Final Class Sharing: Friday, June 24 @ 3:30pm at MYArts.
